OK, sure it’s true that I laugh a little louder and get misty-eyed a little more often as I move on in time (yes, I was trying to dodge the phrase “get older”).
But misty-eyed doesn’t quite describe my emotion as I watched the new Ancestry.com video in which descendants of the signers of the Declaration of Independence took their places in a re-creation of John Trumbull’s famous painting.
Let’s say that seeing the descendants – men, women, Caucasian, African American, Hispanic, Filipino, Native American, Korean and others – in the places of a bunch of old white guys is, well, heartening and gave me chills as well as bringing tears to my eyes.
Bravo, Ancestry, for such a wonderful Fourth of July present!
